Dermot is a veterinary surgeon and also holds a diploma in sports law awarded by the Law Society of Ireland. A passionate horse man, he has a lifetime of experience as a major contributor to equestrian sport in Ireland. Dermot was appointed Breeding Manager of the Irish Horse Board in 1976 and while there he over saw the introduction of the Irish Horse Register. In 1982 he established a bloodstock agency and he has since bred, produced and exported Thoroughbred and Irish Sport Horses. He was a Horse Sales and Breeding Correspondent to The Irish Farmers Journal for 18 years as well as a regular contributor to the European Bloodstock News and The Racing Post. Dermot is a former Chairman of Dublin Horse Show and a member of the organising committee for 30 years. He is currently the F.E.I. National Head Veterinarian for Ireland. His comprehensive knowledge of the industry and his professional understanding of international veterinary regulations has been vital in developing new markets.
Sean holds a degree in Geography & Law from NUI Galway. Growing up surrounded by horses on his family farm gave him a real passion for the life. He successfully competed and produced Sport Horses in his youth. He worked with showjumping legend Eddie Macken in Germany and top American equitation trainer Missy Clarke in the U.S. After University he focused on the thoroughbred industry where he worked for several eminent consignors, agents and shipping companies, in the USA, UK, Ireland and Continental Europe. During these experiences Sean has created a vital network of global contacts. He has successfully bred and produced thoroughbred horses of his own as well as managing a breeding syndicate. As part of Forde Bloodstock Sean has travelled widely to explore new markets. He has been actively involved in the sourcing, purchase and shipping of many high class thoroughbreds for competition and breeding in Europe, North Africa, Asia and the US.
